every march i like to have my own personal bit of crazy. workshop crazy. this year i did 5 workshops in 4 weeks – plus a wedding in spain. of course, i fell terribly behind with blogging all of them so herrrrre they are, plus a few from February!
workshops are a huge part of why i love what i do. there’s nothing like teaching, connecting, photographing, and chipotleing with an eager group of both seasoned and new comers to this world.
i’m always interested in where people would like me to host a workshop so if you’re keen about attending please do signup to be notified here: http://eepurl.com/N6cj1

This composition makes my brain happy
Dang! Right by my house. Milk District!
I like this one better too, even though the other one is awesome too 😉
They are barely escaping the sun’s death rays
I prefer the first, but truly both are spectacular.
This Even though first was epic
Both are awesome. I’m a fan of the first pic bc of the brightness on the bottom of the pic balances it out, and makes my eye naturally move up and down and back again.
This composition is def better!
I agree. Love it!

Done in the The Milk District at the Orlando Photography Studio.
abstract art with a splash of human emotion
It looks like the test worked Sam. The post definitely got seen by more eyes than the previous one. I appreciate seeing all the photos you have posted from the Orlando workshop across here and IG, I’m still in the clouds after looking through my notes and reviewing all the invaluable information.

What a stunning photo! Excellent!
Nice framing
And nice composition
OMG! You were in the D! I thought to myself…. I know where this is!
Just stop it Sam
Beautifully composed!
oh my goodness. i forgot to resize this for Facebook and i can’t believe how horrible it looks!
I was looking on my phone so it didn’t show. It’s still an amazing shot but I understand the frustration about resizing.
What do you normally resize your images to on Facebook Sam Hurd Photography?
Super cool ❤
Julianne Wilson I thought this was u and j at first
you always done it awesome
I have never been to Detroit, but my point is that three points determine an arc and two points determine a curve. Ask a certified pilot what they think, they are more susceptible the count of three than anyone else! If you want to take it a step further ask me about a four point determinant!
Haha. 👌
I love that you actually have to climb into the photo to see it!

Thomas Vincent
Is this a sheet of paper held in front of the lens or what? Geez. How do you do this stuff??
I haven’t heard you say that before but it’s a perfect team you’ve got with light 🙂
This has to be my city
Alexander Marconi these photos.
Free lensing?
Just good old tilt shift
Sam Hurd Photography which tilt shift are you using?
Excellent bro
That’s crazy
amazing!!!
Oh man, that was me a few years ago, and I burned out hard (I was also pregnant tho, that prob didn’t help) . Kudos for being able to maintain that schedule and stay inspired and sane!
You are insanely talented! Can’t wait to see some of the shots you get!!
Nice
That’s insane. How on earth do you manage that??
Kill it this year!
Great :p

All of your images are absolutely stunning! I love seeing your work in my news feed.
This is gorgeous Sam!
I would’ve completely avoided the light…now you make me wanna FIND IT! beautiful
Next time you should go to f/22
24mm?
I love the flare you get in your photos, Ive been working on trying to be better at that.
“When in doubt, go f1.4 and aim for the eyes.”
Or for the broke, 1.8 and pray for no distortion with the nifty.
lol love it
When in doubt, go to Cleveland!
when in doubt aim for the bushes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q86Rn4jETVk
“Starburst… Taste the rainbow.”
I usually do 1.4-2.8…. I’ve never even gone past f9 , even to make a silhouette … Oohhh now I want to try it!!!
Sam, you always unsay it…You are that good! 🙂
Yeah. I have a new love for f/16
Awesome!
Gosh! the light is the killer!!
f/16 was definitely a money shot!! I was pretty amazed at how they turned out!!
Te mamaste wey, jaja
Who needs to meter or focus at all when you have sunny 16 and hyper-focal distance? Set the aperture to f/16, the shutter speed reciprocal to the ISO, the lens to hyper-focal distance, et voila! It is now a point and shoot.
I am such an insufferable nerd.
i feel like you’re speaking french…and i don’t speak french. ha!
Christopher Lewis do you understand this?
At least French is the language of love.
Photography geekdom is the language of please stop talking.
Actually, look, I did throw some French in there. Voilà! I’m so &$@%#€£ smooth…
Absolutely love your work Sam…a pleasure to see in my feed x
Ashrina Chen
best way, i always ask them to look at each other and without fail they laugh.
Poor
April fools !!! – you ask them all the time haha
that picture gives you a big smile 🙂
Sam Hurd Photography is this a TS lens or free lensing?
+1 to that!
Farts always get a good laugh from a wide range of personality types
truly the key to success!
this is a tried and true method that I stand behind 100%
I would avoid standing behind it
that’s probably wise
Santiago Garcia esta es con el Tilt shift
Tht is a good tip. Natural are best photos not forced posed smiles
You sure do know how to make Cleveland shine Sam Hurd Photography!
That is true!! I know this firsthand
If you ask for a smile you’re doing it wrong. 😉
Aside from family formals on a wedding day- I don’t think I have either!
nYcC..
Ilham Teguh
That sharpness tho
May 7 you’re off the clock!
